A serious traffic accident occurred this Tuesday afternoon in Terrassa's Plaça de la Dona, where a 53-year-old female driver became trapped in her vehicle after a collision.

The incident was reported at 3:44 PM, when emergency services received notification of a collision involving two cars. Two units from the Bombers de la Generalitat and several emergency medical units (SEM) quickly responded to the scene, located near the Monument a la Dona Treballadora.
According to initial reports, the accident involved two consecutive impacts: a lateral collision between the vehicles, followed by a second, high-intensity crash into a lamppost in the roundabout. The vehicle most severely damaged was a Renault Captur, driven by a 53-year-old woman from Terrassa.
Due to the force of the impacts, the car's passenger compartment was completely deformed, trapping the driver inside. Firefighters had to perform complex rescue maneuvers to free her. Once extricated, the woman was immobilized with a spinal board and transported to MútuaTerrassa hospital for medical attention.
In contrast, the other driver involved in the accident, a 59-year-old man, was unharmed and did not require medical assistance. The emergency operation lasted for approximately half an hour, affecting traffic flow at this key city intersection. Following the rescue efforts and vehicle removal, the public works brigade of the Terrassa City Council took charge of the damaged lamppost.
