El Diari has been honored with the National Communication Award, granted by the Generalitat de Catalunya, during a ceremony held this Tuesday at the Teatre Principal in Sabadell.

The ceremony, attended by the president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, highlighted the media outlet's track record as a benchmark for local journalism and its deep connection to the territory. The event brought together numerous figures from the Catalan communication and institutional sectors.
During the speech, the management of the media outlet expressed gratitude for the recognition, highlighting the efforts made since the acquisition of the publication in 2018. Emphasis was placed on the importance of maintaining journalism rooted in the city, acting as a mirror of society and defending the Catalan language and culture.

"We, the media, are a necessary actor, the town square or mirror of society. We are responsible for what we do, and local journalism is the first and last trench fighting for the Catalan language and culture."
