After a 2025 fiscal year where fines fell by 16.7% compared to the previous year, totaling 722 files, the situation has changed this year. Up to June 27, 2026, officers have processed 559 reports, a figure that represents 77% of the total recorded during the entire previous year. According to the city council, this increase is due to an intensive civility campaign.
The most common infractions continue to be riding with more than one person on the same vehicle, riding on sidewalks or pedestrian zones, and using mobile devices or headphones while driving. Sanctions for alcohol or drug consumption remain minor cases within the police report.
Geographically, Barcelona road remains the area with the most incidents, followed by Terrassa road and La Rambla. Other points with notable surveillance include Francesc Macià avenue, Barberà avenue, Espronceda promenade, Ponent ring road, Comerç promenade, and Via Massagué.
In terms of road safety, data show a favorable evolution. Accidents involving electric scooters decreased by 12.3% in 2025. Over the last three years, the average has been 114.7 annual accidents, meaning that almost one in ten traffic accidents in the city involves this type of vehicle.
