The Terrassa bus station is one of the terminals where improvement and rehabilitation works are already underway, promoted by the Department of Territory. This action is part of a broader project that foresees a total investment of 10 million euros throughout 2026, with the aim of modernizing up to 25 stations across the Catalan territory.
In the regions of Barcelona, the investment allocated to these improvements amounts to 1.5 million euros. In addition to Terrassa, work is already in progress at the Granollers and Caldes de Montbui stations. It is expected that in June, works will begin at the Fabra i Puig stop in Barcelona.
The main objective of these interventions is to adapt various structural and functional elements to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities and modernize service provisions. The actions include, according to the specific needs of each terminal, pavement renovation, signage updates, access improvements, replacement of urban furniture, and the implementation of new information systems to enhance user comfort.
In the specific case of Terrassa, the current works prioritize cleaning, both of the platform roof and the graffiti on the building, as well as renewing the signage to make it more appropriate and visible.
“"The Government considers public transport one of its main areas of action to facilitate citizen mobility; a mobility that is also sustainable."
The rest of the country will also benefit from this plan, with interventions extending to about twenty municipalities during the spring. The Girona regions lead the investment with 3.5 million euros, followed by Central Catalonia and Camp de Tarragona, with 1.6 million each. The plan is completed with 800,000 euros for the Penedès and 500,000 euros for the Lleida regions.
