The Catalan Government and the Comuns party reached an agreement this Thursday for the 2026 budget, including a feasibility study for the TramVallès in Sabadell.

The administration led by Salvador Illa will analyze the implementation of a light rail system connecting Sabadell, Terrassa, and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). The project aims to use the N-150 road route to provide public transport to neighborhoods currently lacking train access.

"Sabadell benefits greatly because it will be able to face the main challenges we have."

Beyond mobility, the deal focuses on education. Priority investment is planned to remove temporary classroom modules at Arraona, Virolet, and Narcisa Freixas schools in Sabadell. This is part of a broader plan to improve public school facilities across seventeen Catalan municipalities.
Regarding housing, the agreement includes a reform of the Urbanism Law to allow local councils to limit speculative purchases. A total of 1.250 billion euros will be allocated to housing policies across Catalonia, including rent subsidies and building renovations.
