The Traditional Polyphony Choir of Sant Cugat and the Tàrrega choir, Galindaina, will hold a cultural exchange culminating in a joint concert on February 8 at the Chapter House of the Monastery.

The choir Galindaina, based in Tàrrega, is dedicated to the recovery, study, and dissemination of traditional polyphony from the Catalan Countries, focusing on popular song transmitted orally and root repertoires.
Working along the same lines, the Traditional Polyphony Choir of Sant Cugat del Vallès, directed by Clara Ayats, delves into traditional singing and root polyphony, recovering and adapting popular repertoires with a clear aim of dissemination and territorial connection.

This initiative is an excellent opportunity to highlight intangible musical heritage and foster cultural exchange between territories.

The musical and cultural exchange sessions will begin on February 7 with an artistic coexistence session between the two groups. The exchange will culminate the following day, February 8, with the joint concert at 12 noon, coinciding with the celebration of La Candelera.
The event will take place in the Chapter House of the Monastery of Sant Cugat del Vallès, an emblematic venue that will host this gathering of voices and tradition. The initiative is supported by the Sant Cugat City Council, the Sant Cugat Museums, and the Generalitat de Catalunya.
