The Cerdanyola Municipal Library will host an open session on Friday, January 30, to present the documentary collection of Jaume Mimó i Llobet, recently incorporated into the Municipal Archive.

The event, organized by the City Council and the Grup de Recerques i Estudis de Cerdanyola (GREC), will take place in the Sala Enric Granados of the Cerdanyola Municipal Library on Friday, January 30, at 6 PM. The goal is to explain the content and historical value of this legacy for local history.
The session will begin with an institutional welcome from councilor Pilar Adell. Following this, explanations will be provided on the archive system's operation, the role of municipal archives, and the process that made the Mimó fund accessible through the Generalitat's Online Archives.
A central part of the session will focus on the figure of Jaume Mimó i Llobet, who served as mayor of Cerdanyola during the Second Republic. His personal archive, donated by the family, is an essential source for understanding the municipality's political, social, and cultural life during the first third of the 20th century.

These private archives are not just family memory, but collective heritage that must be preserved and made accessible to the public.

This presentation is part of a broader debate on the preservation of collective memory. In this context, on Wednesday, January 28, Ripollet will host the talk Private archives: challenges for the preservation and dissemination of collective memory, led by Marta Marín-Dòmine, former director of the Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria.
