The Barcelona Provincial Court is trying a man this Wednesday accused of aggravated assault and attempted homicide for stabbing a Mossos d'Esquadra officer in Matadepera in 2021.

The Barcelona Provincial Court is hosting this Wednesday, May 20th, the trial against an individual accused of aggravated assault in ideal concurrence with attempted homicide. He is also accused of resisting arrest with minor injuries.
The events took place in Matadepera in 2021. According to the prosecutor's statement, the accused was inside a property not belonging to him, hiding after a police alert.
When an officer looked over a balcony railing, the accused emerged from his hiding place, stabbed him with a bladed weapon, and pushed him, causing him to nearly fall to his death. A second officer prevented the fall.
Subsequently, the accused resisted arrest and attempted to flee multiple times, causing minor injuries to the officers.

The prosecutor is requesting nine years and four months in prison for the accused.
