The detection of these new cases is part of the ongoing monitoring carried out by health authorities. Since late November, more than 5,500 samples from wild boars have been analyzed, with the positive rate remaining under active surveillance by specialized teams.
Given the situation, hunting control tasks have been intensified in the high-risk zone, with the participation of the Rural Agents, the Mossos d'Esquadra, and various hunting societies. To date, more than 5,200 specimens have been captured in the affected areas to contain the spread of the virus.
Preventive measures in Castellbisbal include a ban on access to forest tracks and the closure of local picnic areas, such as those located in Can Campanyà and along the Llobregat River. Authorities remind the public that, in cases of authorized access, disinfection of vehicles and footwear is mandatory.
