Vottun's application analyzes data from satellite imagery automatically, offering over 90% accuracy in vegetation cover detection. It also identifies issues like drought, fires, or pests 50% faster than conventional methods. The software defines specific plots using coordinates and processes parameters with AI, storing information in a blockchain-protected database.
This continuous monitoring is crucial amidst climate change, which has altered Catalunya's climate over the past 60 years. Carbajo emphasizes the importance of reliable tracking for compensation projects requiring at least 30 years of preservation.
The technology targets both reforestation companies and public administrations responsible for territorial control. Vottun, founded in 2018 by Marta Vallès and Luis Carbajo, has already received the Catalonia Exponential Leader seal from ACCIÓ.
This project received €173,546 from the subsidy line for business R&D projects in climate change, funded by the Catalan Climate Fund. This initiative is part of the Catalunya Business Innovation Strategy 2026-2030, aimed at strengthening the innovative capacity of Catalan businesses.
