“"The recovery of the I3 group represents an important step forward and an opportunity to continue consolidating a stable, coherent, and locally rooted educational project."
The Infant and Primary school had lost this second I3 unit for the current academic year, 2025-26, a decision that generated strong opposition from the educational community.
In fact, the school's AFA launched a signature collection campaign urging the Department of Education to maintain the double line, arguing for the need for stability in the pedagogical project.
The reduction of lines and ratios in Infant classrooms is directly linked to low birth rates and is decided at the Local Planning Table. The school management noted that the low birth rate situation continues to affect other schools in the municipality.
According to information published by the media outlet TOT Sant Cugat, another center affected by the loss of an I3 line is the L'Olivera school, which also reportedly informed its families via a statement.
