The Department of Territory has confirmed the date for the normalization of the railway service, which was affected by temporary speed limits (LTV) following a train accident in Gelida on January 20. These restrictions forced a reduction in train frequency to one per hour on the section between Terrassa Nord and Manresa, supplemented by a bus service to cover intermediate towns.
Councillor Sílvia Paneque announced on April 30 that circulation will be fully reopened, eliminating the need for shuttle buses. This will allow users to resume their usual schedules and avoid transfers at Terrassa Nord station to continue their journey to Barcelona.
In addition to the R4, the routes of the R15 line between Reus and Móra la Nova, and the R3, between Ripoll and Ribes de Freser, will also be restored from the same Monday.
“"90% of the usual passenger traffic on all Rodalies lines has already been recovered, and therefore, with the progressive withdrawal of speed limits, it no longer makes sense to maintain exceptional measures."
The councillor also reported, during a visit to the Rubí tunnel works, that the recovery of 90% of the usual Rodalies passenger traffic and the withdrawal of speed limits mean that exceptional measures are no longer necessary. This implies the end of free Rodalies tickets, which will become payable again from Friday, May 8.
