The Plaça Guardiet in Rubí will host a historic double sardana dance session this Sunday, March 8th, featuring the premiere of four new compositions dedicated to the city and the Foment de la Sardana.

The event, starting at 10:30 AM, is part of the lead-up to the centenary of Foment de la Sardana, which will be officially celebrated in 2027. These new musical pieces honor the legacy of the main promoter of this traditional Catalan dance in the city.
The orchestra La Principal del Llobregat will perform Centenari a Rubí by Josep Antoni López i Álvarez and La força dels cent anys by Marcel Artiaga i Valls. Meanwhile, La Principal de la Bisbal will debut Rubí de Diamant by Aurore Vizentini i Finet and 100 anys triomfants by Albert Font i Turón.
These works will be included in a new recording currently being prepared by Foment and La Principal de la Bisbal. Although the 100th anniversary is set for 2027, commemorative events will begin on October 24th, marking the date of their first public performance in 1927.
