The Sabadell City Council has provisionally approved a General Plan modification to transform the historic Casa Grau into a major cultural hub for the city.

The project, located at Plaça del Gas, covers 2,400 square meters. It aims to repurpose the building from administrative to cultural use, allowing the Banc Sabadell Foundation to display its art collection alongside municipal exhibitions.

"In the coming days, we will explain the terms of the agreement. Rest assured that we are not giving away public heritage."

Marta Farrés · Mayor of Sabadell
The PSC and Junts parties supported the motion, while opposition groups raised concerns regarding the lack of financial transparency. The final approval now rests with the Generalitat de Catalunya urban planning commission.
