The decision to reverse the traditional itinerary comes after the organization and the City Council detected logistical problems, especially concerning the prize ceremony location at Plaça del Doctor Robert. The surge in participation, featuring 30 troupes and over 2,500 participants last year, meant that the last floats had not started when the first ones had already finished the route.
Traditionally, the parade followed the city's central axis southbound, starting at Francesc Layret (La Creu Alta) and descending along La Rambla. The new route will now begin at Avinguda de Barberà, in front of La Gironina, at 4:30 PM, heading northbound.
The Carnival parade multiplies the number of participants in the Three Kings' Parade by four or five, highlighting its magnitude as the most crowded event of the festival.
The procession will ascend La Rambla and follow the central stretch (Passeig de la Plaça Major, Passeig Manresa, and Via Massagué). The key turn will occur at Plaça de les Dones del Tèxtil (formerly Plaça Marcet), where it will turn onto Ronda de Zamenhof, finally concluding at Eix Macià. The prize ceremony will be relocated to Plaça de l’Argub starting at 9:00 PM.
