Sabadell Gears Up for a Busy Cultural Weekend with Cinema, Music, and Circus

The city of Sabadell is bustling with activities this weekend, featuring proposals ranging from the Comedy Film Festival to concerts at Cava Urpí and the celebration of World Circus Day, offering a diverse cultural agenda for all audiences.

After Easter Week, Sabadell is preparing for a final quarter of the academic year packed with events. The cultural offerings will be enriched with concerts, book signings, and multiple activities, anticipating Sant Jordi's Day and World Circus Day.
The Parapapà Association is organizing its Comedy Film Festival, where the audience will play a fundamental role in selecting the winning short films. This weekend, Espai Àgora will host the qualifying sessions on Friday at 8 PM, with tickets available for purchase.
Cava Urpí will be the stage for two prominent concerts. On April 17 at 9 PM, Tòfol Martínez will present his new album, Starting Over, in a reduced format with his band. The following day, Mariona Escoda, winner of TV3's Eufòria program and the Enderrock Award for Best Revelation Artist, will offer a renewed show with her new album. Tickets for both concerts are on sale, with few seats remaining for Escoda's performance.
The Sant Vicenç hosts the play Un obús al cor, an intimate story about a young man trapped between past and present, with sessions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 9:30 PM and 6 PM, respectively. Tickets for this production are already sold out.
La Llar del Llibre is organizing an afternoon of book signings with authors from Penguin Random House on Saturday starting at 6 PM, including writers such as Clara Simó, Míriam Tirado, Regina Rodríguez Sirvent, and Coia Valls. Simultaneously, Sabadell Còmics will host meetings with various authors, including former basketball player Andrés Jiménez at 12 PM.
To commemorate World Circus Day, the city has scheduled several activities. On Saturday at 11 AM, there will be a family circus session. In the afternoon, L'Estruch will present the play Nüshu, featuring Chinese pole, aerial ladders, and group acrobatics, followed by El vell cabàs and an open rehearsal of La Dérobée. The Museum of History is organizing a free guided tour of the Sant Oleguer ice well on Sunday at 11:30 AM, as part of International Day for Monuments and Sites.
Finally, the Agrupació Hostafrancs will kick off its year's activities on Sunday at 11:30 AM with music, a DJ, and children's entertainment on Margenat Street, 49. At La Capella, the Barcelona-based group Cien Gaviotas will offer a tribute to Duncan Dhu and Mikel Erentxun on Sunday afternoons.
In the sports arena, CE Sabadell will face Hércules at home on Sunday at 6:15 PM. With six matchdays remaining, Sabadell is in second place, one point behind leader Eldense, at a crucial point in the season.
