The city of Sabadell has transformed for a few days into a showcase of Japanese culture with the fifth edition of the Sakura Matsuri Fair, filling the center with gastronomic, artistic, and traditional offerings.

The Sakura Matsuri Fair, organized by Sabadell Japan City, is inspired by traditional Japanese matsuri and has established itself as a prominent cultural event on the local calendar. The event attracts a diverse audience, from anime and manga enthusiasts to lovers of Japanese cuisine and curious individuals who discover the fair by chance.
Visitors like Xavi Sánchez and Juan Garrido highlight the atmosphere and the quality of the offerings. Garrido, for instance, discovered the fair while strolling and took the opportunity to taste a Japanese Sapporo beer.
The fair is spread between the plaça del Gas, which hosts talks and educational demonstrations on lesser-known aspects of Japan, and the Jardinets de l'Espai Cultura, a space dedicated to culinary and cultural exhibitions.
Among the most notable activities have been martial arts demonstrations such as aikido and kenjutsu, the elegant art of kimono dressing (kitsuke), the traditional tea ceremony, and numerous activities focused on manga, including conferences and drawing battles.
In the Jardinets, children have enjoyed workshops on traditional Japanese games, manga drawing, origami inspired by kimonos, and mask creation.
Gastronomy has been another major attraction, with food trucks and stalls offering dishes such as takoyakis, onigiris, ramen, and gyozas. Dorayakis, popularized by the Doraemon character, have been particularly sought after.
Fans like Marcel Jimeno have shared their passion for manga and anime, recalling their beginnings with classic series and highlighting Attack on Titan as their favorite title.
