The month of February offers no respite in the cultural programming of Sabadell, which presents a wide variety of events for all audiences. Key venues such as the Principal and LaSala host large-scale shows, while nostalgic music and emerging Catalan pop find their place at Cava Urpí and La Capella.
Regarding theatre, the Principal programs two proposals. On the one hand, the play Ai! La misèria ens farà feliços, a piece of humor and sarcasm reflecting on art and the meaning of work, although tickets for the Friday 8 PM show are already sold out. On the other hand, the Orfeó de Sabadell presents Maragall a veus, a sound journey through the poetic universe of Joan Maragall, combining music and poetry with works such as L'Empordà and El Cant de la senyera. The latter can be seen Saturday at 7 PM and Sunday at 12 PM.
Traditional music and pop are also protagonists. The Cobla Orquestra Salvatana will offer a sardana dance on Saturday at 5 PM and a gala concert at 8 PM. On Sunday, the Cobla Sant Jordi will take over with a second dance in the Plaça del Doctor Robert at 11:30 AM. For Catalan pop lovers, the musician from Empordà, Ernest Pruna, known for his single Que el viatge sigui llarg and the album Torno a casa, will perform at Cava Urpí on Saturday at 9 PM, with all seats sold out. Finally, the group O’Hara will offer a nostalgic Spanish pop and pop-rock concert at La Capella de Can Gambús on Sunday at 12 PM.
The agenda is complemented by family and alternative proposals. LaSala hosts La città infinita, a play performance where children design urban spaces by cooperating with blocks made from industrial waste. This activity will take place in double sessions on both Saturday and Sunday. Furthermore, at L'Estruch, Eduardo Manazas will lead an open circus rehearsal called Meraki, combining juggling and technology, on Saturday at 8 PM. Humor is also present with the traditional monologue show “Parapampeto” at Sala Balboa, Saturday at 8 PM, followed by the annual contest qualifiers on Sunday.
