The Sabadell Municipal Police has announced a comprehensive reinforcement plan that includes the addition of new officers, the expansion of video surveillance, and the modernization of its facilities.

During the latest Local Security Board meeting, strategies to improve coexistence and public safety in Sabadell were detailed. The police force is undergoing an update process covering both human capital and the technological and material resources available to officers.
Regarding personnel, the force has added 30 new officers during the current term. Of these, 15 are already in active service, while the rest will complete their training in August. Additionally, five temporary officers will be hired to cover peak summer activity, bringing the total staff to nearly 300, the highest figure recorded to date.
The video surveillance network is also expanding. Currently, Sabadell has 116 operational cameras in key locations such as passeig de la Plaça Major, plaça del Pi, and plaça de la Creu de Barberà. The project plans to install thirty more in strategic areas and transport stations, reaching nearly 150 control points.
Finally, facilities have been modernized with a new Command Center and the renovation of the reception at Can Marcet. Operationally, a specialized unit with vans and additional officers will be deployed to patrol nightlife areas during weekends.
