The Catalan Ombudsman (Síndic de Greuges) has launched a data platform identifying Sabadell as the third city in Catalonia with the highest number of homeless people, totaling 428 individuals.

According to the study, which surveyed 81 municipalities with over 20,000 inhabitants, Sabadell follows Barcelona (2,117 people) and Badalona (629) in the rankings. The data includes those sleeping rough as well as individuals living in industrial warehouses, vehicles, or substandard housing units.
In Sabadell, the visibility of this crisis has increased near landmarks such as the Vapor Badia library and Plaça d'Espanya. Social organizations have been warning for months about the growing complexity of the situation, which the Ombudsman aims to address through improved transparency and coordinated institutional action.
The report also highlights that 86% of the homeless population are men, with the most common age group being between 41 and 50 years old. Across Catalonia, there are 429 informal settlements housing approximately 2,502 people, mostly concentrated in urban areas.
