Neighborhood associations in Sabadell are calling on the City Council to urgently restore the Can Llong farmhouse, a protected historic building that is currently in a state of ruin.

The Unió Veïnal Can Llong - Castellarnau and the local Neighborhood Association want the municipal-owned property to serve as an extension of the community center. Residents point out that despite the opening of the CAP in December 2022, the area still lacks meeting spaces for youth and local organizations.

"What is missing now is a space for youth to meet. The other option is to use schools, but that involves protocols and paperwork."

The building's condition has worsened due to recent wind and rain. Officially listed as being in ruins, the structure recently suffered a wall collapse, according to association president Enric Pérez. The Sabadell City Council plans to carry out minor repairs soon, but neighbors are demanding a full heritage recovery project.
