The city of Terrassa has organized a program of cultural activities during June to commemorate World Refugee Day, including exhibitions and a film forum.

In observance of World Refugee Day on June 20th, Terrassa has prepared a series of events throughout the month. The municipal government emphasizes that these initiatives aim to "visualize the reality of many people who have to flee their countries for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion".
This year's program features a film forum and three exhibitions exploring the theme from diverse angles. The District 6 Library is hosting, from June 9th to June 25th, the exhibition Drets humans en moviment (Human Rights in Motion). Spearheaded by the Terrassa Red Cross and the Institut Ègara, this exhibition seeks to "awaken critical awareness around climate migration, focusing on youth as protagonists of change".
A second exhibition, Enderroquem murs, construïm ponts (Let's Demolish Walls, Let's Build Bridges), will open on Thursday, June 11th, at the District 4 Library. This exhibition showcases proposals from primary, secondary, and high school students from the Working Group on Anti-racism in Schools. The third event, Ocupades: dones palestines de la Nakba a Gaza (Occupied: Palestinian Women from the Nakba to Gaza), will be held at the Central Library of Terrassa and opens on June 18th. It will feature nearly forty images from the photographic archive of the United Nations for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East, exploring the dual meaning of the word "occupied".
Beyond the exhibitions, Acnur (UNHCR) is organizing a film forum at the Casa de l’Esport (House of Sport). The film Adi, filla da luz, which tells the story of a young refugee from Mali, will be screened on Tuesday, June 16th. It will be followed by a discussion on the power of sport as a protective tool. Tickets can be reserved via email at solidaritat@terrassa.cat.
As part of the commemoration, the monument to the Working Woman will be illuminated in blue on June 19th, 20th, and 21st.
