Terrassa FC's Play-off Hopes Fade After Home Defeat

A 2-3 loss against UD Poblense at the Estadi Olímpic severely complicates the team's promotion aspirations with two games remaining.

Terrassa FC suffered a critical defeat at the Estadi Olímpic against UD Poblense, a result that virtually ends their dream of competing in the Primera Federación promotion play-offs with two league matches remaining.

The Egarense team managed to take the lead twice, but failed to maintain their advantage, seeing their opponents come back in the second half with crucial goals in the 79th minute and during added time, concluding the match with a 2-3 score. A key moment was a penalty missed by Sergio Cortés in the 62nd minute, which could have made it 3-1.
With this loss, Terrassa FC is now seventh with 46 points, three points away from the play-off zone, a gap that could widen to five if Reus wins their match. Despite the challenging situation, the team still has two opportunities to fight, facing Atlético Baleares and Reus in the upcoming fixtures. The next match will be on Sunday, April 26, against Atlético Baleares away, at 12 p.m.
The match started with a determined Terrassa FC, with Guti making an early attempt in the 2nd minute. The first goal came in the 11th minute, scored by Larry. However, Poblense reacted and equalized in the 22nd minute with a goal from Nofre. Just before halftime, Aythami put Terrassa FC back in the lead with a goal in the 45th minute.
In the second half, Poblense pressed harder for an equalizer. After Sergio Cortés missed a penalty, Poblense managed to level the score in the 79th minute, again through Nofre. Finally, in the last minute of the game, with Terrassa FC pushing forward, Poblense completed their comeback with a goal from Marco, securing the away victory.
