The streets of Terrassa host various sculptures and monuments commemorating figures relevant to local history. Among these, a bust dedicated to a Terrassa industrialist stands out, whose square also bears his name, recalling his trajectory and significant contributions to the community.
This sculpture pays tribute to a citizen born in Terrassa on August 14, 1895, and who passed away in the same city on August 10, 1989. He was a co-founder of an electrical components company and built the first radio receiving station in the locality. However, one of his most recognized facets was his close relationship with the world of hockey.
“"He was a Terrassa industrialist, co-founder of the electrical components company Agut SA."
He is considered one of the pioneers in introducing this sport to the city between 1911 and 1912. The bust, which includes a plaque with his birth and death dates, highlights the importance of his figure in the arrival and consolidation of this sport in Terrassa.
The square where the bust is located was inaugurated on July 25, 1995, coinciding with the third anniversary of the Barcelona Olympic Games. The work is by sculptor Ferran Bach-Esteve, an artist with a notable presence in the local sculptural scene.
