The Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa has launched an Assertive Community Treatment Team (ETAC) this February to provide proactive, home-based assistance for individuals with complex mental health conditions in Terrassa.

Based at the Adult Mental Health Center (CSMA), this new unit is part of a pilot program by the Department of Health. The project aims to replace conventional care with an intensive model focused on the patient's environment, serving a population of 135.000 residents in the Vallès Occidental region.
The multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, specialized nurses, and social workers. Their approach relies on in vivo interventions at the patient's home to improve treatment adherence and prevent psychiatric emergencies.
The pilot phase expects to treat between 40 and 60 patients. This model is specifically designed for adults with high functional disability or social vulnerability who often struggle to maintain contact with traditional healthcare services.
