The city of Terrassa is preparing for the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026, an astronomical event that will be visible from the south of the country, with an educational conference at the MNACTEC.

The National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (MNACTEC) has organized a presentation for August 12, 2026, aiming to address public questions about this phenomenon. The session, starting at 6 PM, will be led by a renowned science communicator.
During the talk, attendees will delve into the nature of both solar and lunar eclipses and discover specific details about the total solar eclipse occurring in the summer of 2026. Topics will include optimal viewing locations, key timings, and practical advice for safely enjoying the spectacle.

"The presentation will allow us to discover what eclipses are and how they occur, including lunar ones, but above all, what the total solar eclipse will be like this summer: where it can be observed, at what times, how to choose the viewing location, and other practical information."

The activity is free, but requires prior reservation through the MNACTEC website. Reservations will be held until five minutes before the conference begins; after this time, unoccupied spots will be reallocated to other interested visitors.
Additionally, the MNACTEC has scheduled a second conference on the same topic for June 3, titled “Solar Eclipse: planning and recommendations for its observation,” which will be led by another expert in the field.
