With the aim of promoting a festival more respectful of animal welfare, the departments of Animal Welfare, Diverse Capabilities, and Accessibility in Terrassa have launched the #SantJoanInclusiu campaign. This initiative seeks to raise awareness about the distress that firework noise causes in vulnerable groups, including individuals with auditory sensitivity or various health conditions, as well as domestic and wild animals.
For the fifth consecutive year, the council is promoting the distribution of chewable tablets made from natural ingredients, designed to calm animal anxiety without side effects. These can be collected at the Casal Cívic de Ca n’Aurell (plaça del Tint, 4) on June 22nd (from 10 am to 2 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm) and June 23rd (from 10 am to 2 pm).
The Animal Welfare office in Terrassa reminds the public that these tablets do not replace veterinary recommendations. To receive them, participants must present the animal's veterinary record showing its microchip and registration, or sign a declaration of responsibility if the registration document is unavailable.
The campaign also includes the presence of a veterinary assistant at the distribution point to answer questions about administering the tablets, thereby fostering a safer and calmer Sant Joan celebration for all living beings.
