The city of Terrassa is preparing to host the ninth edition of the Leonor González Parkinson's Run and Walk on April 12, a charity event organized by the AVAN Foundation to fund neurorehabilitation programs.

Parkinson's disease is a complex condition that extends beyond visible tremors, significantly impacting patients' autonomy in daily activities. Neurorehabilitation is crucial for improving the quality of life for those affected, but this service is not covered by social security, and its cost in the private sector is often unaffordable for many families.
To alleviate this situation, the Private AVAN Foundation offers a scholarship program that allows individuals with Parkinson's to access neurorehabilitation. The Leonor González Parkinson's Run and Walk is one of the main funding sources for these scholarships, and this year marks its ninth edition.
The event is scheduled for April 12 at 10:00 AM in Plaça de la Cultura in Terrassa. It is a non-competitive event, open to all ages and abilities, offering support and assistance to those who need it. Last year, the participation of 1,265 people helped raise 15,600 euros, and for this edition, the goal is to surpass these figures. Registration costs 10 euros, and over 600 participants have already signed up.

Events like this are a moral and economic boost for AVAN and a platform to publicize its activity.

This initiative not only provides vital economic resources for the AVAN Foundation but also serves as a platform to raise awareness about Parkinson's disease and the importance of neurorehabilitation, sensitizing society to the needs of those affected and their families.
