The city of Terrassa reaffirmed its leadership in the national audiovisual sector this Saturday, February 28, securing four awards at the 40th Goya Awards gala held in Barcelona.

The local success was driven by the technical excellence of ESCAC graduates. The feature film Sirat, directed by Oliver Laxe, was a major highlight of the night, receiving six awards, three of which went to professionals trained at the Terrassa film school: Oriol Maymó, Laia Ateca, and Laia Casanovas.

ESCAC alumnus Cristian Beteta collected the award for Best Fiction Short Film for his work Ángulo Muerto.

The city's impact through the Parc Audiovisual was evident with 14 nominated projects featuring local participation. While the film Los Domingos by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa was the night's big winner, Terrassa's influence was seen in films like La Furia and Los Tortuga, both filmed in the municipality.
