The Hermandad de la Borriquita de les Arenes in Terrassa marked the beginning of Holy Week with a procession that emphasized the integration of new generations in carrying the image of the Mare de Déu de la Salut i la Llum.

The les Arenes neighborhood of Terrassa experienced Palm Sunday with particular intensity, featuring the traditional La Borriquita procession. The image of Jesus entering Jerusalem, accompanied by his donkey, paraded through the streets, gathering numerous residents and faithful.
This year's edition was especially significant, as the brotherhood introduced an important novelty: for the first time, younger members had the opportunity to carry the image of the Mare de Déu de la Salut i la Llum. This initiative underscores the organization's commitment to the continuity and generational handover of the tradition.

This procession is one of the most anticipated moments for the neighborhood's residents and faithful, who year after year come out to follow a celebration that is now deeply rooted.

Subsequently, Plaça Vella hosted the traditional blessing of palms, one of the first religious acts of Terrassa's Holy Week. Hundreds of palm branches were blessed by the bishop of Terrassa, Salvador Cristau, before the solemn mass at the Sant Esperit temple.
Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem, an event recounted in the Gospels where the people welcomed him with palms and olive branches, marking the beginning of the most significant days in the Christian calendar.
