Around 2,000 people gathered this Sunday in Terrassa for an 8M demonstration that, for the first time, moved the protest from the city center to the eastern districts.

The march, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Casal de la Dona, followed a new route through Barcelona Avenue and Ca n'Anglada, ending at the Eva Abad Pérez Gardens in Torre-sana. This location honors a local doctor murdered by her husband in 2019.

"We have wanted to break away from demonstrations only being in the city center for a long time."

Mercè Gómez · President of Casal de la Dona
The event featured a joint manifesto read at Sant Cristòfor parish, addressing issues such as the gender pay gap, migrant rights, and aesthetic pressure on children. Workers from the Sant Llàtzer Residence also spoke out against the precarious conditions in the care sector.
