The Som Grans Fair in Terrassa is transforming into an intergenerational space with over 40 activities, seeking the participation of all ages and the integration of senior citizens into community life.

The event, organized by the City Council and the Federation of Senior Citizens' Associations of Terrassa, will take place on April 25th and 26th at the fairgrounds and continue on April 27th, 28th, and 30th at LaFACT. The main objective is for children, youth, and adults to share experiences with senior citizens, who currently represent 20% of the local population, exceeding 56,000 inhabitants.
The program includes over 40 cultural and leisure proposals for the whole family. At the fairgrounds, attendees can enjoy dance exhibitions, board games, inflatables for children, and popular culture performances with castellers (human towers) and batucadas (drum groups). There will also be catering services, with free hot chocolate on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and a paella or fideuá menu with live music.

"I shouldn't leave my grandchild at home this weekend; the idea is to bring them along and for them to enjoy with me. We want a city where all generations feel part of a shared project. This fair is an opportunity to break stereotypes, build connections, and highlight the active role of senior citizens in community life."

Subsequently, the LaFACT Auditorium will host the second part of the event with musical performances, choirs, and habaneras, featuring the participation of over 400 individuals from local associations. The organizers have emphasized the strong involvement of these entities and the vitality of the associative fabric, which will allow visitors to discover the daily work of the community centers.
During the fair, a new mobile application will be presented, designed to provide information on cultural, social, and sports activities in the city, replacing the old WhatsApp Activa +60 channel. This tool aims to facilitate access to information and promote the autonomy of senior citizens in using digital technologies. A support point will be set up at the fairgrounds to assist attendees in downloading and using the platform.

"Until now, senior citizens had to ask their children to let them use the computer to see what was happening at the center, but now they are getting involved to make it easier for themselves."
