Residents of Terrassa and other parts of the Vallès Occidental detected an intense smell of burning this Wednesday, caused by smoke from an active forest fire in Aragon.

As confirmed by the Bombers de la Generalitat, the source of the smell is not a nearby incident, but the fire affecting the municipality of Leciñena, in the province of Zaragoza. Atmospheric conditions have facilitated the smoke's movement into Catalan territory.
The fire, which began this Tuesday at noon, has already burned more than a thousand hectares in the Alcubierre mountain range, spreading between the provinces of Zaragoza and Huesca. Aragonese authorities have described the situation as worrying due to the rapid spread of the flames.
The smell has sparked numerous inquiries and comments on social media, where citizens have shared their concern regarding the uncertainty about the origin of the smoke.
