Toni Mata wins the 15th Carlemany Prize with 'El centre del món'

The Sabadell-born author receives the reading promotion award in Andorra for his novel about ambition and financial freedom.

Sabadell writer Toni Mata has won the 15th Carlemany Prize for Reading Promotion in Andorra this February with his latest novel El centre del món.

The work was selected from 31 originals in a competition organized by the Government of Andorra and Grup 62. The prize, worth 8,500 euros, will be awarded next May alongside the book's publication by Columna Edicions.
The plot follows Paula, a 17-year-old who realizes how money conditions family relationships. The novel was chosen by a jury of nine students from the three educational systems of the Principality.

With this victory, Toni Mata strengthens his career after winning the Joaquim Ruyra Prize for Nascuts per ser breus. This marks the third consecutive year that an author from Vallès Occidental has won this award.
