The Valldoreix EMD and the Collserola Natural Park Consortium have launched a forest management project combining donkey grazing and climate credits in Vallès Occidental.

The PROMACC Collserola project operates on 56.11 hectares of oak and pine forest in Can Monmany. This intervention aims to reduce fuel load in a critical urban-forest interface where structural drought has increased wildfire risks.
The initiative expects to generate 56 climate credits, with an estimated 15-year impact of 2,850 tons of CO2 sequestered. This innovative funding model supports biological undergrowth management.
Maintaining 23.83 hectares through donkey and goat grazing costs 168 euros per hectare annually, promoting local farming as a vital infrastructure for territorial resilience.
