The Volpelleres Neighborhood Association and local residents are demanding that the Sant Cugat City Council take responsibility for repairing sewage leaks at the Miquel Batllori Library.

The children's room in this Sant Cugat del Vallès facility has been shut down since early December. Technical reports suggest the leak originates from a structural defect in a pipe joint, likely damaged during the building's construction by the municipal company Promusa.

"For 3,000 euros we have a children's area and an assembly hall closed in the only municipal cultural facility in the neighborhood."

César Leonardo García · Community president
The estimated cost for the repairs is approximately 2,800 euros. Residents argue that since the issue stems from a construction flaw rather than poor maintenance, the local administration should cover the costs. Volpelleres, a neighborhood with over 12,000 residents, currently lacks its primary cultural hub.
