The Matadepera Town Council, through the Department of Citizen Security, has updated the municipal video surveillance system and announced the start of significant re-urbanization works downtown.

The Department of Citizen Security and the Local Police of Matadepera have recently carried out various actions to keep the video surveillance system “fully operational and updated.” Four existing cameras have been renewed, replacing them with models featuring better optical technology, and two new points have been added.
The two new installations are located at the corner between Sant Joan Street and Cal Beltrà Street, and on Rocafort Avenue, the latter being a license plate reader camera. Renewals were carried out in the Les Pedritxes and Rourets areas.

To continue expanding and improving the security of the municipality.

With these improvements, the municipality of Matadepera currently has a total of 74 surveillance cameras, 53 of which are ambient and 21 are license plate readers, strategically distributed to cover the main accesses and residential areas.
In parallel, the Matadepera Public Works and Services Area has started re-urbanization works at the intersection of Sant Llorenç Street and Antoni Gaudí Street. This intervention, which has an approximate duration of six months, will focus on adapting the road to improve accessibility and mobility.
The project also includes work to improve the sewage system in the area. The action, which affects the section between Antoni Gaudí, Sant Llorenç, and Sant Joan streets, has been awarded for a total amount of 390,130.66 euros.
