A total of 114 people participated this Sunday, October 25th, in the XI Intergenerational Walk in Montcada i Reixac, an activity organized by the Department for Older Persons to commemorate the International Day of Older Persons.
The walk, initially scheduled for October 4th, had to be postponed due to rain. The date change, along with coinciding with an excursion organized by the Civic and Community Center of Montcada i Reixac, affected the final attendance, despite 150 registrations having been reached.
The walk started from the Plaça de l’Església and concluded at the Parc de la Llacuna, where a breakfast and an activity of active meditation and dance therapy were scheduled.
“
"This October is very important for us and for the City Council, but our commitment to older persons is not limited to this month, but extends throughout the year, with the activities we organize and the participation of the senior centers in the municipality."
“
"For us, it is a joy to see your involvement and to be able to share these moments with you."
The event concluded with speeches from the mayor, Bartolo Egea, and the Councillor for Older Persons, Carles Vilalta. The Councillor for Citizen Participation, Dámaris Sánchez, and the President of the Social Area, Rafa Ruiz, also attended the event.
The program, which continued on Sunday afternoon with the 'Ball de la Gent Gran' at the Espai Cultural Kursaal, will conclude on October 28th, at 5:30 PM, at the Municipal Auditorium (Església, 12), with the conference ‘Dones grans, grans expertes’ (Older women, great experts), by Anna Freixas Farré, a doctor in Psychology and retired university professor.
