The Municipal Government of Montcada i Reixac has given initial approval to modifications of the fiscal ordinances and public prices for the 2027 fiscal year. The proposal maintains frozen taxes and fees, while strengthening social and public interest measures, adapting current regulations and updating procedures.
The President of the Economic Planning Area, Nani López, highlighted that the review does not seek indiscriminate increases, but rather ordinances that are "clearer, more coherent, legally more secure, and fairer." Among the new features, the public prices for Montcada Aqua are modified to adapt tariffs to different disability levels, and the concept of senior citizens is expanded to include retirees or pensioners under 65 years of age, thus avoiding unequal situations.
Non-profit entities will also benefit. Legally constituted sports entities will be able to obtain exemptions for the use of municipal sports facilities for training and competitions. This exemption system is extended to activities of public or social interest in municipal socio-cultural facilities and educational centers.
Regarding the waste fee, the rates remain unchanged. The ordinance is adapted to the new commercial collection model, differentiating establishments based on the volume and type of waste generated. Large generators will primarily be incorporated into the personalized municipal collection service, while extraordinary generators will need to have their own system.
Other modifications include updates to the Property Tax (IBI) for solar energy utilization systems, facilitating settlement in the Construction, Installation, and Works Tax, and specifying bonuses for electric, low-emission, and historic vehicles in the Mechanical Traction Vehicle Tax. A fee is also introduced for digitizing physical documentation in large-volume public information access files, with an exemption for the first 200 pages.
The proposal incorporates contributions from the public consultation process, particularly regarding criteria for people with disabilities and retirees. Nani López emphasized that the ordinances combine "technical modifications and regulatory adaptations with decisions of clear social intent."
The Council's approval is initial. The modifications will be publicly exhibited for 30 business days for potential claims or suggestions before becoming final.
