The event, which took place last Tuesday, October 27th, at the Teatre Ateneu in Cerdanyola del Vallès, gathered over a hundred people to recognize Martínez's career. The ceremony was attended by prominent political and organizational representatives, including the mayors of Ripollet, Lluís Tirado; Cerdanyola del Vallès, Carlos Cordón; and Montcada i Reixac, Bartolomé Egea. Also present were the president of the Red Cross in Catalonia, Josep Quitet, and the president for the province of Barcelona, Lídia Lanuza.
During his 28 years leading the coordination, César Martínez has been instrumental in consolidating the Red Cross's presence in the three municipalities, promoting social work focused on volunteering and support for vulnerable groups. Martínez has expressed his intention to continue collaborating with the organization as a volunteer after his professional retirement.
According to the 2025 Report, the assembly assisted 4,440 people and provided 44,788 responses to their needs. Awareness activities reached over 20,000 people, and the entity has 382 volunteers and 2,819 members across the three municipalities.
With Martínez's retirement, Marina Ruiz will take over the coordination of the assembly. Ruiz, who was previously the Volunteer and Children's Technician, has been part of the technical team for eleven years and is expected to continue the work developed.
