The Catalan Government, through Minister Alícia Romero, confirmed today that it is negotiating with the Spanish State the financing of the emergency expenses assumed due to the Rodalies crisis over the last two weeks.

The Generalitat has quantified the costs derived from reinforcing road transport, hiring station informers, and lifting the toll barriers on the C-32 highway. This last measure, according to the Government, entails an approximate cost of 600,000 euros daily. The Minister of Economy and Finance, Alícia Romero, confirmed that negotiations are underway with the Spanish Government to recover these resources.

"We are negotiating with the government of Spain; they will obviously have to finance this for us. This crisis has not been managed well these days, and we will demand that these resources be returned to us."

Concurrently, the Catalan executive is also studying the possibility of compensating companies affected by the railway disruption, especially those linked to freight transport. The Minister of Business and Labor, Miquel Sàmper, has held meetings with key sectors such as automotive, steel, and chemical, warning that the prolongation of the blockage could have serious consequences, particularly at points like the Rubí tunnel, crucial for international traffic.
The employers' association Pimec has warned that if the goods blockage continues, the country could face a supply crisis affecting the industrial sector. According to their estimates, the incidents in Rodalies generate an opportunity cost of about 9 million euros daily, in addition to the logistical blockage accumulating goods in locations like Portbou.
