Junts per Catalunya in Rubí Denounces Lack of Commitment to Day Hospital Project

The party criticizes that the new postponement of the health facility until 2032 demonstrates the "lack of willingness" of the Catalan Government.

Junts per Catalunya in Rubí has strongly criticized the Catalan Government after the Health Minister scheduled the opening of the Day Hospital for Rubí, Sant Cugat, and Castellbisbal to begin in 2032 or later.

The Head of Organization for Junts in Rubí, Anna Casamián, denounced that this new deadline, announced this week, shows the "lack of willingness" of the PSC to promote a health infrastructure long demanded by the municipalities of Vallès Occidental.

"When we talk about health, one cannot govern based on excuses or with deadlines that are indefinitely extended."

The party considers it especially serious that the postponement occurs while the PSC holds the government both in the Rubí City Council and the Generalitat. Casamián recalled that the mayor of Rubí promoted a signature collection campaign in 2019 demanding a new hospital, and now the discourse has radically changed.

"We are not talking about just any project, but about health and essential services."

Iván Vila · Spokesperson for Junts per Catalunya in Rubí
The spokesperson for Junts per Catalunya in Rubí, Iván Vila, warned that accepting 2032 as the horizon implies "condemning Rubí to continue for another decade with sanitary deficiencies". The party noted that MP Jordi Fàbregas had promoted parliamentary initiatives, including a resolution proposal to have the center operational by 2027, which was amended by the PSC.
