The Rodalies train service is progressively being restored across all lines in Catalonia starting Friday morning, following a safety agreement reached between Renfe and the train drivers.

Trains have resumed circulation after a two-day halt caused by the fatal accident in Gelida. The stoppage was lifted after the drivers obtained safety guarantees, reaching an agreement with the Government, Renfe, and Adif on Thursday. Safety checks on the infrastructure across the entire network were completed overnight by joint teams.

"The goal is for Rodalies to operate with the greatest possible normality, and work was underway to ensure incidents are minimal."

Despite the resumption, some lines are experiencing delays that can exceed an average of 30 minutes. However, the R8 line, which passes through Rubí, is operating normally. Antonio Carmona, spokesperson for Renfe in Catalonia, had already warned on Thursday evening that isolated incidents could not be ruled out.
To minimize the impact, the Generalitat has added 100 extra buses to alternative transport options, reinforcing services in regions such as Barcelonès, Baix Llobregat, Maresme, Vallès Oriental, and Occidental. The Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) also maintains its reinforcements, following a significant increase in users on Thursday.
