Rodalies trains, including the R8 line passing through Rubí, remain out of service on Thursday, January 22, morning, as drivers refuse to resume work without written safety guarantees from Adif.

The service disruption, which began earlier, continues despite Rodalies having communicated the previous night that recovery would be gradual. By 8 a.m., the service had not yet been restored, affecting thousands of commuters, with platform access closed at some stations.
In response to the situation, the Government of Catalonia announced an increase in the frequency of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGC) services. Furthermore, tolls on the Garraf highway remain lifted, and bus operators are authorized to expand their fleet to mitigate the impact.

"The drivers are requesting a series of safety measures that they understand are not being met, additional to those already presented by Adif."

Renfe has called a meeting with the drivers' representatives, initially scheduled for 11 a.m., with the goal of advancing negotiations and restoring the Rodalies service as quickly as possible. The Semaf union insists that trains will not run without written guarantees.
