The Rubí City Council is organizing Mediation Week, from January 19 to 24, across various locations in the city to promote a culture of peace and positive conflict resolution.

The initiative is held around the European Mediation Day on January 21, aiming to foster coexistence, dialogue, and respect for human rights. The diverse activities adopt an intersectional approach, encouraging listening, reflection, and the fight against hate speech.
The week begins on Monday, January 19, with an interview with the municipal mediation team on Ràdio Rubí. Furthermore, citizens can visit an information booth on January 19 (at Francesc Macià street with Pere Esmendia) and January 22 (at the Plaça del Mercat) to learn about the work of the Mediation Service and the Area of Security, Community Police, Civility and Coexistence.
Key activities include the workshop “Teatralitzem conflictes” (Dramatizing Conflicts), created with students from the Social Integration CFGM at INS La Serreta, held on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 of January at the Library Auditorium. This session uses everyday scenes to reflect on conflict as an opportunity for learning and personal growth.
Coinciding with the European Mediation Day, on Wednesday, January 21, the awareness workshop “Edatisme i convivència a les comunitats veïnals” (Ageism and Coexistence in Neighborhood Communities) will be led by the Som Seniors association at the Mestre Martí Tauler Library. In the afternoon, the storyteller Sherezade will present the tale La reina de la neu.
The program concludes with the children's exhibition “La vida al nostre barri” (Life in Our Neighborhood) on Thursday, January 22 (at Plaça Neus Català i Pallejà), the family workshop Som aquí, based on the work of Oliver Jeffers (at El Celler), and the artistic performance “Entre Nosaltres” (Saturday, January 24 at Plaça Doctor Pearson) to promote intercultural diversity and combat stereotypes.
