The City Council of Rubí observed a minute of silence this Wednesday in Pere Aguilera square in mourning and solidarity with the victims of the train accident that occurred near Urda, in Toledo.

Mayor Ana María Martínez Martínez, accompanied by representatives of municipal groups and citizens, presided over the gathering in front of the town hall. The event served to express the city's condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased and to symbolically convey Rubí's support to the injured and all those affected by the tragedy.
Rubí thus joined the mourning demonstrations held in numerous municipalities, in response to the call from the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which also includes Catalan municipal entities such as the Federation of Municipalities of Catalonia (FMC) and the Association of Municipalities of Catalonia (ACM).
The accident occurred on Wednesday morning when two high-speed trains collided in the province of Toledo. According to available information, the incident caused at least 68 fatalities and 15 serious injuries, with provisional victim counts.
