A new landslide affected the Rodalies R4 line between Cerdanyola del Vallès and Sabadell Sud stations this Saturday, causing no injuries, just before the total suspension of the railway service was decreed.

The incident occurred while the Catalan Government formally requested Adif and Renfe to suspend the Rodalies and Regional services, arguing that the safe mobility of passengers and workers could not be guaranteed. This landslide took place on the line connecting the Vallès Occidental area with Barcelona.
This new land slip is part of a critical week for the Catalan railway network. The previous Friday, a landslide had already cut traffic on the R1 line between Maçanet-Massanes and Blanes, although no injuries were reported then either.
The most serious event of the week was on Tuesday night, when a retaining wall collapsed on the R4 line in Gelida (Alt Penedès), causing a train accident with the tragic toll of one fatality and 37 injured people. The succession of incidents has raised serious questions about the safety of the infrastructure.
