Various personalities and institutions have lamented the loss of Núria Juncadella Roig, who died last Sunday at the age of 91. The Castellar del Vallès City Council shared a note recalling her figure, highlighting that she served as councilor for Social Welfare, Health, Solidarity, and Cooperation for the Convergència i Unió municipal group during the 2003-2007 term.
Born in Sallent in 1934, Juncadella was linked for many years to Sabadell before arriving in Castellar del Vallès in 1990. She herself had explained on several occasions that she felt welcomed in the Vallès locality from the very first moment.
After retiring in 1992, she dedicated a significant part of her life to volunteering, maintaining a strong social commitment. She actively collaborated with organizations such as Cáritas, La Tercera Edat per al Tercer Món (The Elderly for the Third World), and Mans Unides.
In the municipal sphere of Castellar del Vallès, her work as a councilor coincided with the mayoral handover during the term led by Lluís Maria Corominas and Montse Gatell. From that period, her involvement as a promoter and member of the board of directors of the Castellar del Vallès University Extension Classroom for four years stands out.
