The self-managed collective Cal Temerari in Sant Cugat del Vallès successfully raised the €300,000 required to purchase its historic premises, guaranteeing the continuity of the community project against real estate pressure.

The goal announced last November to raise 300,000 euros to acquire the property where it has operated for over ten years has been successfully met. The participatory loan campaign, driven by citizen response, quickly reached its targets, allowing the collective to apply for the mortgage and formalize the purchase after the summer.

"Either we went all in and took it as an opportunity to grow, or we had to assume that they would kick us out of the premises."

This historic step coincides with the tenth anniversary of the entity, which has seen its membership grow to 387. According to Àlex Rosell, the purchase decision was a turning point after the property owner communicated their intention to sell the building in June.
Despite achieving the initial milestone, Cal Temerari is keeping the campaign open with a new target of 400,000 euros. These additional funds will be used to make a qualitative leap in the space, including the installation of an elevator, the adaptation of a new room, and the expansion of spaces to accommodate more entities and activities.
