Andrea López-Tomàs, a journalist from Cerdanyola and Middle East correspondent, presented a solidarity book on January 3 at Cal Temerari in Sant Cugat, with all proceeds going to aid organizations working in Gaza.

The solidarity initiative was promoted by the Abacus Cooperative and coordinated by journalists Txell Feixas and Cristina Mas, gathering contributions from numerous journalists and activists, including international figures such as Greta Thunberg and Jordi Évole.
During the presentation, which filled the venue despite the organizers' initial pessimistic forecasts, López-Tomàs focused her talk on the tragedy of motherhood in Gaza, dedicating her chapter to the story of Hanna Mansour.

"In Gaza, at this moment, they not only want to exterminate the life that already exists, but they want to eliminate the life that has not yet been born."

The journalist explained that the current military strategy has intensified to eliminate life not yet born, citing examples like the bombing of the only sperm bank or attacks on midwives, leading more women in Gaza to reject motherhood.

"Today, in the 21st century, they seek to dehumanize Palestinians to justify their disappearance. And this is the same thing they did to the Jews in the early decades of the 20th century."

Dominique Salomon · Activist and Author
Both López-Tomàs and Txell Feixas offered a critical reflection on the role of journalism, noting that the reduction of media space dedicated to the conflict might create the mistaken perception that the situation in Gaza is improving, making alternative communication channels more necessary.
